prices

There are two big problems with the costs of maternity care today:

  1. It's too expensive.
  2. It's too unpredictable.

If you have complications or major risk factors, you're going to need expensive, unpredictably-priced care. If you're a healthy pregnant woman with a normal baby, it doesn't have to be that way.   We have worked really hard and found creative ways to provide exceptional care at the lowest possible price:

  • We continuously refine every aspect of our business to be as efficient (and therefore low-cost) as possible.  We pass these savings on to you.
  • We bundle all normal services into a single heavily-discounted package so you know the cost in advance.
  • We offer a variety of packages and individual services to suit your preferences and finances.
  • We offer a variety of discounts on our Complete Maternity Care packages.  Call for more info!

Our pre-pay prices* are below.  If you're not sure whether we're the right fit for you, please take advantage of our FREE Tour and Consultation.  If you're considering using insurance to pay for our services, you may want to check out our cost calculator.

NOTE: If you're comparing our prices with others, make sure you know which services are included and which cost extra.  You don't deserve to be nickeled and dimed.  Call us if you have any questions about our prices.

Newborn Metabolic Screening (PKU)
This test checks for more than three dozen rare but serious conditions that might affect your baby. We perform the heel-stick test at your first postpartum visit (2 days after delivery), and repeat it at your 2-week checkup.
Included in Complete Maternity Care or Unassisted Birth packages

As a separate service: $185

Newborn Hearing Screening
Although most parents believe they can tell if their newborn can hear, you can't by simply observing the newborn.  Hearing deficits can go undetected for 2-3 years causing major problems with language development and social skills.  It can also become less treatable the later they are diagnosed.  Utah law requires all newborns to receive a non-invasive hearing screening which we routinely do at your first postpartum visit.  Our hearing screenings are also available for newborns delivered by other providers.
Included in Complete Maternity Care or Unassisted Birth packages
As a separate service: $20

Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) Screening
Heart defects are the most common structural birth defects.  While some are less serious, there are several which can cause critical complications after birth before symptoms are recognized.  Utah law requires all newborns to receive a non-invasive CCHD screen between 24 and 48 hours after birth.  We routinely screen babies we deliver during the first postpartum visit, but heart defect screenings are also available for newborns delivered by other providers.
Included in Complete Maternity Care or Unassisted Birth packages
As a separate service: $20

Lab Tests

Whether you need a routine test or two or something more specialized, we are happy to provide testing within our scope of practice.  Because of our contract with laboratories, we can often obtain tests at a significantly reduced price.

Routine tests are included in Complete Maternity Care or Unassisted Birth packages
As a separate service: depends on the test

Unassisted Birth Supply Kit

If you're birthing with us, all of your supplies will be provided.  If you are birthing unassisted, it can be difficult to assemble some of the more specialized supplies you will need.  Our kit for freebirthers includes the following:

  • umbilical cord clamp
  • sterile instrument to cut the cord
  • disposable absorbable pads to protect your bed, floor, or other surfaces (chux)
  • disposable pull-on maternity pads for heavy flow immediately following the birth (no need for mesh panties)
  • plastic sheet for floor or bed

Included in  Unassisted Birth package
As a separate service: $30

Birth Certificate Assistance

If we deliver your baby, we will file the birth certificate for you.  If you are birthing unassisted, you must file the birth certificate, and this can be one of the most challenging obstacles you'll face.  With some forethought, it needn't be difficult.  We'll help you know what actions you need to take at different stages of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, give you the paperwork you need, and connect you to the people who file and issue the certificate.  Easy!  PLEASE NOTE:  You must request this service before the baby is born.   Putting it off until after baby arrives is always difficult and we don't help with that.

Included in Complete Maternity and Unassisted Birth packages
As a separate service: $20

"One of the best things was that we knew exactly what it was going to cost, and the entire thing was paid for before labor began. I never spent a moment of labor worrying about bills coming in the mail for months afterwards, or about never knowing what the total would be or when a bill was the last one.  That happened with our last birth at the hospital and we hated it."
