Supervising Midwives
Suzanne Smith, CPM LDEM
Suzanne has been a midwife since 1994, and was the first licensed midwife in Utah. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Midwifery from Midwives College of Utah and was an instructor for and Academic Dean of that institution for several years.
Trinette Thompson, CPM LDEM
Trinette has been midwifing since 2004. Her specialty is herbal and homeopathic remedies in pregnancy and childbirth.
Sarah Carter, CPM
After many years as a childbirth educator (Birthing From Within) and a doula extraordinaire, Sarah finally took the plunge and became a midwife. She is very easy to talk to and really knows how to support a woman in labor.
Ester Werbach, DEM
Ester worked as a licensed midwife in Buenos Aires for 10 years before emigrating to the United States. She practiced in both high-volume, low-income hospital settings (sometimes delivering 30 babies a day!) and more luxurious and leisurely private clinics (only 1-2 deliveries a day). She loves the type of out-of-hospital births we do here at BetterBirthLLC
Marci Roundy, CNM
Years ago Marci asked Suzanne to come and speak to the students in one of her college classes about out-of-hospital birth. From then she was captivated. She had her second baby at home with Suzanne, and finally decided she couldn't have babies forever so she'd better learn to become a midwife. She graduated as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2011 and is thrilled to be back home here at BetterBirthLLC, doing what she loves.
Jennifer Kuhlman, CNM
Jennifer Kuhlman, mother of 12, has a long and varied history in the childbirth world. During CNM school she was privileged to work in both hospital labor and delivery units and birth centers. She herself has had home, hospital, and birth center deliveries. She hopes to bring wonderful birth experiences to the mothers at BetterBirthLLC.
